Matsu Takako was born June 10th, 1977 in Tokyo, Japan, which makes her a
Gemini! She's also two years older than my brother, and about five years older
than me. She is 166cm (5'5") and her blood type is A. Wow, she isn't much
shorter than me! I'm 170cm. Her hobbies include TV, movies, and drama. Her newest single Ashita ni kuchizuke wo can be bought at YesAsia.com.
Matsu Takako is my favorite female singer in the entire world. Yes, she is
Japanese, and no, I am not, but she is still the most beautiful woman I have
ever seen! Oh, Takako-chan... would that you could be mine... *sigh* But I
digress. The reason that I am making this site is because I wanted to share my
Matsu Takako stuff that I make! Please enjoy it!

After the Rain from "Sora no Kagami"
I not so recently aquired Takako-chan's CD "Sora no Kagami" and to quote my good friend, wonderful stuff! I can't wait to get her other CD! But for now, here is my general review for this one. Note: I had to take down my sample tracks because Freeservers won't let them work. Yet another server that gets pissy about mp3s. I'm very sorry.
"Sora no Kagami" starts off with a spiffy little introduction (Introduction~girlfriend) with some lovely humming and no words. It is then followed by the first song, Hello goodbye. This is one of the first songs I'd ever heard of Matsu's and I just love it!
I STAND ALONE, one of her later mp3s I had aquired is also track two. I really love this song, and as I understand it, this was a rather popular single in Japan - with good reason I assure you! Nice and upbeat, yet somehow mellow, a bit empowering at times, though I have no idea what the lovely lady is saying minus a few words here and there. (*sigh* C'est la vie!)
Track four, lovesick, is a bit different than the previous tracks. If there were a video for it, I'm sure it would take place in the city at night. Serious tone, not bad to slow dance to with a few quick moves here and there.
Sora no Kagami (track five) is obviously the title track and quite lovely. It just makes you want to nod your head with the beat, tap your feet, maybe do a little dance to yourself - that sort of thing. This would also make a great slow dance with a few twirls for the ladies. (Not too fast though, guys - they make us dizzy!) I find myself humming this tune a lot.
After the Rain is so catchy!! I love this song; it just makes me want to dance! I skip down the street to this one. No, really, I have done it! It seems to express the feeling of the sun coming out and drying things up after a nice refreshing rain. That could very well be what she is singing about as the title implies, but do bare in mind I have no idea what she is saying (too much unfamiliar kanji in the lyrics). The words "ame" and "kaze" are used a whole heck of a lot (I learned those kanji really fast while trying to transliterate). This song is just awesome.
If you are looking for something a little different, try zutto. . .iyouyo. Interesting instrumentation and beautiful voice, naturally. About all I can get out of this one is when she says "rabu songu" (that's "love song" for all you japanglish impaired types). I'm a sucker for a good beat so my feet never cease to tap to this track.
Track eight (a piano piece for Carol) is totally instrumental and though the music and arrangement were done by Hinata Daisuke, it is our lovely and talented Takako-chan on piano! (She plays like an angel too!! *sigh*) I have no idea who Carol is, but damn is she one lucky woman.
Someone informed me that this translates at Tokyo Bird and if I could locate the CD (recent move has things still scattered), I could probably give the Japanese a go myself. (-_-)* It's sad, really. But this song is really quite lovely and yet another slow dance song. This one you can rest your head on his shoulder for, girls. And guys-- well, nevermind what you can do.
Okay, this one is thankfully all hiragana so I got it pretty easy, karai kare (spicy curry). (Hm, I did get that right, didn't I?) This one makes you want to get up and dance. Be warned, it is another extremely catchy song! It isn't so much the lyrics, but the way they are sung that makes this song distinctive to me - that and the little part one minute and thirty-six seconds into the song in which the guys say: "Hey good lookin' what ya got cookin'!" It's cute though, in adition to being amusing.
Ah hah! More kanji in track eleven! Luckily, I know what this one translates as: Tomorrow, Spring is Coming. At least that is what I had the mp3 labeled as before I got the CD. Seems like I translated it to something like that too. It's a rather mellow song with a good beat and somewhat flowing lyrics. I wouldn''t consider it slow nor fast dancing, but somewhere in between? It's a love song judging by the line "I love you" and "eien" (forever).
WIND SONG~Album version~ is track twelve. Why "album version"? I have no idea, but it is. There's a weird little thing at the beginning that I really like. (What the heck kind of instrument makes a sound like that??) The lyrics are flowing and contain a fair amount of English. Definitely a love song! Mellow and soft in most parts, it builds to a strong end that is just somehow satisfying.
The official last track is thirteen and entitled Girlfriend~Angels of our time. There's something like a Caribbean beat here that gives it a slow and sensuous feel, though lighthearted. I can't help moving to the lovely little guitar in the background.
Now, I don't know about the Japanese release - mine is the "overseas edition" (whatever that means) - but I have five bonus tracks here. They are as follows: 14) Tomorrow, Spring is Coming (Original Karaoke), 15) I STAND ALONE (Original Karaoke), 16) WIND SONG~Single version~, 17) WIND SONG-CAGNET MIX-(Instrumental), and 18)WIND SONG (Original Karaoke). That's a lot of WIND SONGs isn't it. Well, don't worry, they're all very pretty. EVen my grandmother commented on the lovliness of the songs I was listening to. I haven't figured out the difference between the Album version and the Single version, but then I haven't really listened all that well either. (What can I say except that my attention wanders... oh come on, it is not that obvious. Hey, wouldn't these karaoke versions be great to use for a concert solo? Well, there is always my Christmas choir concert...)
